The Town of Eagle has matured into one of the nicest small mountain towns in the Rockies. In recent years, the local population has grown substantially and the town’s people have come together to create a community that is beginning to thrive with economic diversity and civic cooperation.
Turn back the clock 7 years…..
It wasn’t long ago when the Eagle, Colorado was featured as a real estate boom town gone bust on PBS Newshour; in fact, in 2009, again in 2010 and again in 2011. The road to economic recovery has been a long one for the mountain town of Eagle, Colorado. However, it is safe to say that the town has transitioned to a more diversified professional business base with a strong work close to home and family component; it’s an economy that is still dependent on the up-valley resort industry but, less dependent on new real estate development and overall much more independent than before.
The Town of Eagle and its residents have been resilient and are working hard to re-energize the community spirit, diversify the business economy, improve infrastructure and plan for new residential homes and commercial buildings. In fact, if you have been considering moving to the mountains of Colorado, the Town of Eagle is a great choice and timing couldn’t be better for all of these reasons.
The people and local government have worked hard on new branding efforts to attract visitors, businesses and residents alike. The Town of Eagle recently launched a program aimed at educating folks about all of the natural benefits and outdoor activity that surrounds us living in Eagle. www.EagleOutside.com The Eagle Chamber of Commerce has stepped up it’s game with a new website and enhanced aspirations. Their Vision is to be recognized as the business arm of our world-class mountain town. To achieve this they are taking a leadership role in working for Eagle’s Economic Vitality.
New and expanded events such as the Youth Mountain Bike Championships, the Eagle County Fair and Rodeo, Eagle YogaFest and the Eagle Wild Mushroom and Wine Weekend have begun to put the spotlight on the Town of Eagle as a weekend travel destination. Eagle with its extensive trail systems is quickly becoming a well known Mountain Bike location; some say perhaps the Colorado equivalent to Utah’s famed Moab. In addition, over the past 5 years many new families and residents have moved to Eagle increasing the local population substaintially; this is vitality through the Town as we are seeing busier restaurants, bigger crowds at events and more folks walking and biking around town. The Town of Eagle and lower valley are once again full of life!
A series of new roundabouts and pedestrian friendly pathways were finished last summer and a pedestrian and bike trail system has been constructed with its own I-70 overpass allowing residents the walkability to and from the neighborhoods, grocery store, the bowling alley, restaurants and Chambers Road commercial area. New custom homes are again under construction and there are several developers who are proceeding with plans to build new subdivisions in the near future. In addition, a full care senior living center is now open in the Town and is already at full capacity as the grade schools and high schools all are increasing in size.
Real estate home prices in and around Eagle have remained modest compared to the rest of the Vail Valley. There are a variety homes between $300,000 and $900,000 currently on the market. If you are considering moving a business to Eagle, the Town has expressed a new willingness to work toward the mutual goal and we have retail and office space ready to move into. Call us at 970.331.1110 for our current offerings at Eagle Crossing Shopping Center located directly on the Eagle River.

Vail Valley Real Estate Incorporated is shaking things up and leading a shift in the way real estate transactions are handled in the Vail Valley. The new brokerage is leveraging today’s Internet and telecommunications technology to bring local market knowledge and on demand real estate services to prospects and clients where they are… on the World Wide Web.
With over 70 years of collective experience helping buyers and sellers of property in Vail, Beaver Creek and surrounding mountain communities, long-time locals, John Helmering, Rick Beveridge (formerly of Beveridge Real Estate) and David Nudell (formerly of Berkshire Hathaway) have teamed up to form this new concept brokerage. Vail Valley Real Estate Incorporated will provide the best of all worlds, by combining environmentally friendly, web-based technology with unmatched industry market expertise and traditional brokerage services.
“Our local market knowledge and technology-driven practices offer better, more efficient transactions for both buyers and sellers,” explains Managing Broker, John Helmering. “With 100% mobile and on-line abilities, we are available anywhere in Eagle County and beyond to discuss the real estate market, show property, list homes, negotiate, and digitally sign contracts at any time.”
The social nature, greater user interactivity, and mobile computing capabilities of Web 2.0 brought about tremendous changes across all enterprises including the real estate industry. From the MLS to personal networks, the real estate industry thrives on the timely dissemination of information. Before Web 2.0, real estate professionals were the only ones with access to that information, and prospective buyers and sellers had to seek them out to see the home choices in their area. But now, the challenge for real estate professionals is lead generation and optimizing new listings so they are found and seen by prospective buyers searching for property from their desktops or mobile devices.
“The way people search for, find, and sell their homes has changed, and so have we,” says partner David Nudell. “… and the next generation of homebuyers has grown up searching for, buying, selling everything on demand. So we are finding those buyers where they shop and search for property, on their terms and timeframe, via their computer or phone”.
Vail Valley Real Estate, Inc. generates leads for sellers and their listings with a strong Internet presence. They have harnessed the power of several digital, web-based platforms including their heavily trafficked websites and urls www.vailrealestatesearch.com and www.vailvalleyproperty.com, enhanced social media, virtual tours, professional HD photography, email newsletter and property alerts and drone videos.
“Our sellers have been pleased to see their properties receive upwards of 100 tour views per day on VVRE’s website,” reports John Helmering. “Even most of the national portals struggle to compete with our organic search optimization and online buyer retention.”
Vail Valley Real Estate Incorporated is currently working with several developers and representing many new construction projects in the Eagle River Valley. They work with local sellers and first time homebuyers, as well as second home resort Buyers and Sellers. In addition, VVRE has a well-developed commercial and property management affiliation that is actively consulting with property owners throughout the Valley.
“We also understand the importance of balance in our mountain communities,” explains partner Rick Beveridge. “Therefore, in addition to resort listings and selling luxury properties, VVRE is dedicated to working on several affordable housing and vertical development projects that we hope will address some of the Valley’s affordable housing issues.”
Vail Valley Real Estate, Incorporated – Digital. Community. Connection – A technology-driven brokerage whose agents are available seven days a week via VVRE’s interactive platforms. VVRE agents work with integrity to collaboratively offer our clients local knowledge and expertise, and our listings the service and promotion they deserve. Warning: Once you settle in to this 5-bedroom, 5-bathroom, 5,000-square-foot home, you may not want to leave. The expansive windows let the natural light in, bathing the open floor plan in sun. The four bedrooms, all with en suites and walk-in closets, are on the main level, allowing for wheelchair access. Brush Creek runs right through this 3-acre property with fly fishing directly out your back door. The private trout pond is reminiscent of a Norman Rockwell painting come winter: kids skating and laughing with glee. (Bonus: the pond is stocked for fishing fun.) The grounds are stunning with hundreds of cottonwood trees and acreage for horses and livestock. Along with plenty of land, this home was built with toys in mind with the 5+ -car garage. Additionally, there are several out buildings for storage. Add to the fact there are no HOAs or covenants and this is a bit of paradise right in Eagle. The home feels high-end but isn’t fussy with granite counters throughout and custom wood trim and beautiful quarter-sawn white oak flooring but is comfortable enough for large family gatherings or a quiet evening at home with the kids and grandkids.

1948 Eagle Ranch Road – Elegant Mountain Living!
1948 Eagle Ranch Road was designed and constructed by award winning architect Scott Turnipseed. He combined the characteristics of a fine Craftsman-style home with a farmhouse twist to complete this work of art as a functional dwelling.
The exterior components include multiple intersecting roof gables, with triangular knee braces, wide eaves with exposed rafter tails along with hefty wood piers sitting atop indigenous river rock walls that support the deep wrap-around covered porch. Visual design elements include a charming cupola and flying pig weathervane designed for good luck, and a “Hexafoo” design in the front gable (an old farmhouse superstition to ward off evil spirits).
The open floor plan has few hallways to increase functionality with rooms flowing one into another. The interior’s handcrafted design features include; a two-story river rock fireplace, vaulted ceilings with beautiful wood beams, a stone wrapped Island in the farmhouse inspired gourmet kitchen, integrated plaster throughout and built in book shelves and desks.
