Colorado counties of Eagle, Grand, Jackson, Pitkin, and Summit are among the top in vacation homeownership destinations in the United States

The National Association of Realtors (NAR) has identified, Eagle County, Grand County, Jackson County, Pitkin County and Summit County in central Colorado as one of the Top Five Second Home Destinations in the United States.  The heart of the Rocky Mountains could not be a better place to own a vacation home.  Colorado is central to most of the Country and also has International appeal.  In addition the 14,000 foot peaks in Colorado are among some of the prettiest and dramatic views this World has to offer.  There is also year round outdoor summer and winter activities to enjoy and reconnect with nature; something most recent studies have stated is essential for good mental health.  The Destinations of Vail, Beaver Creek and the rest of the Vail Valley are in a great position for continued second home and local housing growth fueled by low interest rates and rising household wealth.

Rising Net Worth and Low Interest Rates Bode Well for Future Eagle County Second Home Sales

Sellers and Buyers in the Vail Valley should be very happy with the recent vacation and second home report from the National Association of Realtors.  They identified Eagle County as one of the best areas for second home purchases.  And that the increase in household net worth and low interest rates will fuel sales in Vail and Beaver Creek as well as the rest of the Vail Valley for years to come.  Here is a quote from NAR’s Chief Economist.

time high of $100.3 trillion—and that is nearly

double the level in 2008 when wealth was cut
during the recession. Some of this tremendous
build-up in wealth, although concentrated, has
been channeled to increased demand for

The Neighborhood of East Vail, Colorado

The neighborhood of East Vail sits at the foot of the Gore Mountain Range and is the closest in proximity to Denver, Colorado.  East Vail was one of the early neighborhoods of the Vail Valley with and sports a mix of early vintage ski condominiums and town homes, in addition to luxury mountain single family homes.   Most of the properties that were built in the 70’s and 80’s have been remodeled and newer homes have been built throughout the last decade.  Real estate prices start in the $400,000 up to several million dollars for the newer single family homes.  View All Homes for Sale In East Vail

East Vail is a fabulous alpinous environment with towering evergreen trees and 14,000 foot mountains seemingly rising out of the valley corridor.  Many like the area because a majestic trout stream named Gore Creek meanders through the East Vail neighborhood on its way through the Vail Golf Course and Vail Village.  In addition to Gore Creek, East Vail also is know for its sheer rock cliff faces and beautiful spring waterfalls flowing off Vail Mountain and the Gore Range.  Extreme and not so extreme skiers delight in the fabled chutes of East Vail and ice climbers come from miles around to challenge the ice falls in the winter.

Big Horn Park with its large playground, athletic fields and Beaver Ponds is an added bonus when considering purchasing a home in East Vail.  Residents gather their dogs and children at the park to talk over a cup of coffee or play frisbee with the neighbors is a common occurrence, even through out the winter.  And, the free Town of Vail bus service runs on a year round basis takes you to Vail Village and all the way to West Vail if you desire.

There are many other things to like about living or vacationing in East Vail.  Several moderate hikes start out of East Vail that take you up into the Gore Range; the Booth Falls and Booth Creek trailheads have small parking lots where you can park and start your hike.  For cycling enthusiast, there is the famous Vail Pass bicycle trail.  The well maintained paved bike path rises up almost 4000 feet and back down into Copper Mountain on the East side of the pass.  For those looking for tennis, racquet ball, workout and training facilities, the Vail Racquet Club has memberships available for all property owners in East Vail.

The world renown Blu’s restaurant is located in the Vail Racquet Club.  The 25 year old restaurant is a Vail tradition and is a welcome addition to this residential neighborhood.  If you need to stock up on groceries or wine, their is also the East Vail Market that has a large variety of everything including fresh meats, cheeses, produce and packaged liquor.

East Vail is a great place for family to gather and the homes here are built for entertaining lots of friends and family.
